STEREO in SOLO Biography
STEREO was created in 1982 as a two piece band by Thierry Noritop and Bernie Adam, both pop music writers and composers.
Their first single “Somewhere in the night” was a minor hit that did pretty well in most of Europe, from Italy to the Northern Countries.
A second single was issued “No more”, again a minor hit.
Despite a very good quality standard, the album “Assembly line” received a mixed welcome, and they decided to call it a day.
Twenty years after, “Somewhere in the night” had become a highly sought after gem in the collectors’ world, especially the 12th that could change hands for 300 pounds a piece!
All along, there was a huge interest for the band on Internet.
A big buzz started, and that caught the attention of Veronica Vasicka ,a New York DJ specialized in reissue of rare albums and EPs, dedicated to cold wave music,

with her label Minimal Wave Records.
She called the band and proposed to reissue the original album all along with the first single and a previously never released track that Thierry found on a DAT.

The album was issued on CD, vinyl and digital, and received a very good welcome all over the world.
Thierry and Bernie decided to make a new album in Düsseldorf, and started working with a sound engineer, Ralf Beck, a friend of Veronica who previously worked

with Kraftwerk and Propaganda, two major German bands that had international success.
Preparing their work in Thierry’s home studio in Paris, and going regularly to Düsseldorf, the album built up slowly over more than 4 years until total completion in August 2015.
The result have been “Back to somewhere“.

STEREO a été créé en 1982 par Thierry Noritop et Bernie Adam, tous deux auteurs et compositeurs de musique pop.
Leur premier single "Somewhere in the night" est un petit succès qui marche assez bien dans la plupart des pays d'Europe,
de l'Italie aux pays du Nord.
Un deuxième single a été publié, "No more", qui a également connu un succès mineur.
Malgré un très bon niveau de qualité, l'album "Assembly line" reçoit un accueil mitigé et le groupe décide de s'arrêter là.
Vingt ans plus tard, "Somewhere in the night" est devenu un joyau très recherché dans le monde des collectionneurs,
surtout le 12e qui peut se vendre à 300 livres l'unité !
Tout au long de l'année, le groupe a suscité un vif intérêt sur Internet.
Un grand buzz s'est créé, qui a attiré l'attention de Veronica Vasicka, une DJ new-yorkaise spécialisée
dans la réédition d'albums et d'EPs rares, dédiés à la musique cold wave, avec son label Minimal Wave Records.
Elle appelle le groupe et propose de rééditer l'album original avec le premier single et un titre inédit
que Thierry a trouvé sur une DAT.
L'album est sorti en CD, vinyle et digital, et a reçu un très bon accueil dans le monde entier.
Thierry et Bernie décident de faire un nouvel album à Düsseldorf, et commencent à travailler avec un ingénieur du son, Ralf Beck,
un ami de Veronica qui a déjà travaillé avec Kraftwerk et Propaganda.
Préparant leur travail dans le home studio de Thierry à Paris, et se rendant régulièrement à Düsseldorf,
l'album s'est construit lentement pendant plus de 4 ans jusqu'à son achèvement total en août 2015.
Le résultat a été "Back to somewhere".
Fin 2015, après la sortie de "Back to somewhere", Thierry Noritop a décidé de travailler sur son premier album solo
dans son propre studio d'enregistrement à Paris,
un projet sur lequel il travaillait depuis de nombreuses années.
Le résultat est STEREO in SOLO avec l'album "Somewhere out there", sorti en CD & Digital en 2018.
La chanson "Flowers on the moon" a été un beau succès.
